How to cancel Proton

Step by step

Open the official Proton account page (button above) and sign in with the account that pays for the plan.
Find “Plan”, “Membership” or “Subscription” and choose Cancel (sometimes called “turn off auto-renew”).
Go through the retention offers until you see a clear confirmation.
Keep the confirmation email. You usually keep access until the end of the paid period.

Before you cancel

Cancel at least 1–2 days before the next renewal date – a renewal processed overnight is rarely refunded.
Paid through Apple, Google Play or a mobile carrier? Then you have to cancel there, not on the Proton website.
Annual plans billed monthly can have an early-cancellation fee. Check your plan terms before you cancel, or set a reminder for the end of the commitment.
