How to cancel YouTube Premium
Short answer: open the official YouTube Premium account page, sign in and choose Cancel or turn off auto-renew. Do it at least 1–2 days before the next renewal date.
Step by step
- Open the official YouTube Premium account page (button above) and sign in with the account that pays for the plan.
- Find “Plan”, “Membership” or “Subscription” and choose Cancel (sometimes called “turn off auto-renew”).
- Go through the retention offers until you see a clear confirmation.
- Keep the confirmation email. You usually keep access until the end of the paid period.
Before you cancel
- Cancel at least 1–2 days before the next renewal date – a renewal processed overnight is rarely refunded.
- Paid through Apple, Google Play or a mobile carrier? Then you have to cancel there, not on the YouTube Premium website.
- Free trials turn into paid plans automatically. Cancel during the trial if you don’t want to keep it – you usually still get the remaining trial days.
